The last Erasmus + meeting and evaluation
On 15 June 2018 the last meeting of the Erasmus + group, a group of students and teachers directly involved in the Erasmus + project 'Young Enterprising Europeans', was held. The meeting was devoted to summarizing the almost two-year work on this transnational project and gathering information and opinions on the quality and adequacy of the activities undertaken and the results achieved. As a result of the analysis of surveys, interviews and observations, we have no doubts that the project actually responded to the needs of students, all planned activities were implemented and the goals achieved. The evaluation carried out convinced us that the implementation of such a project brings benefits for the school, teachers and, above all, for students. Let us quote some of the participants’ expressions to confirm that:
- I believe that thanks to participation in the project I learned a lot about entrepreneurship, for example how to set up your own business, what it means to be an entrepreneurial person. My English is much better. I met many nice people, it's easier for me now to contact with my peers. I met people from other countries and got to know their culture. It was a nice experience and I would happily repeat it.
- I learned what it means to be an entrepreneurial person, I became more confident and open to other people. I met many wonderful people from our partner countries and their culture. Our school has become more open to international projects.
- Before, I did not know much about entrepreneurship, and thanks to my participation in the project I know who an entrepreneurial person is and what qualities they have. Now I can speak English better. I have many friends abroad, with whom I constantly keep in touch. Our school has become more open, it is a completely new experience.
- I am more communicative and confident. I took part in many great classes, for instance, on creativity. During our international meetings there was an amazing atmosphere, I met foreign friends and expanded my knowledge about the culture of other countries. Maybe in the future I will start my own company, who knows? At least, now I know how to do it.
- Thanks to my participation in the project, I learned a lot about local companies, during the trip to the capital city I got to know the history of old Warsaw factories. I discovered in myself the desire to travel and meet new people and their customs. I improved my language skills, broke language barriers and understood how important it is to learn English. Participation in the project was a wonderfully spent time, in a group of friendly people. If I had the opportunity to take part in such a project again, I would do it without hesitation. I am proud that teachers from my school have been involved in the implementation of this entire project.

A visit to The Open Air Village Museum in Lublin
On 21 June 2018, a group of students of Tadeusz Kosciuszko Primary School No. 2 in Leczna, those involved in the EU Erasmus + project, along with their teachers Ms. Grażyna Koperczak and Mrs. Małgorzata Fryt participated in a museum lesson entitled 'Endangered professions in Roztocze' at The Open Air Village Museum in Lublin.
During this vivid history lesson, the students learned about the occupations that were typical for the pre-war villages of Roztocze. They also learned simple techniques of making old handicrafts. The subject matter of the workshops is very much in line with the topic of the Erasmus+ project 'Young Enterprising Europeans', which our school is currently implementing.
After the museum lesson, we all went for the delicious "Bosko" ice cream.

English Workshops
The students of Tadeusz Kościuszko Primary School No.2 in Leczna, especially those ones involved in the Erasmus + project, are eager to learn English. They are aware that knowledge of foreign languages is becoming not only an asset, but also a necessity in both private life and professional career. Taking part in several short-term exchanges of groups of students organised during the 'Young Enterprising Europeans' project, they experienced it by themselves. They are aware that knowledge of this language enables communication with foreigners and facilitates travelling abroad.
English workshops organized for the project group in Success School on 20 June 2018 as a part of the Erasmus + project 'Young Enterprising Europeans' focused on developing our students’ English competences. The main aim of the workshops was to provide the participants with practical language skills, thanks to which they will communicate more effectively in English in everyday situations.

European Voluntary Service from A to Z
On April 4, 2018 we hosted a representative of The Sempre a Frente Foundation from Lublin in our school, as well as a volunteer coordinator of the European Voluntary Service
in the Lubelskie Voivodeship, Ms. Monika Mieleszko and three volunteers from Spain who carried out euroclasses on European Voluntary Service for pupils of the second grade of junior high school, under the Erasmus + Program.
The Sempre a Frente Foundation conducts educational and cultural activities serving social and personal development, in particular children and youth, as well as educates
and promotes the attitude of volunteering and active participation in social life, especially among young people. The Foundation also runs the Regional Information Point of Eurodesk Poland, so that's where you can find out, for example, how to go abroad for volunteering or start studying in another country. It was the issues related to volunteering that were the main topic of euroclasses conducted for our junior high school students. Volunteers told the students what European Voluntary Service is, the very important program of the European Union, what its recruitment rules are and what benefits it offers, and among them we can mention the enhancement of language competences, cultural integration, personal development, acquisition of teamwork skills, time management and gaining many other experiences and skills. To participate in the project, you do not need to have any special qualifications - just want to act. That's what it is in volunteerism the coolest, that it does not set any limits, you can be a volunteer at any age, you only need willingness and commitment. This was confirmed by the volunteers visiting our school, for whom the adventure with volunteering is extremely valuable and gives them a lot of satisfaction. Their attitude will perhaps be in the future an inspiration and encouragement for our students to act for the benefit of the needy.

ABC of saving …
The ability to manage and save money properly plays a very important role in every person's life. We should make the habit of sensible saving even small amounts. But not everyone knows how to do it. To learn it, on 26 September, 2017 the Erasmus+ group from Szkoła Podstawowa nr 2 im. Tadeusza Kościuszki in Łęczna took part in a very important lesson with an employee of PKO BP Bank in Łęczna on managing their mini budget. It is one of various activities done within the Erasmus + project 'Young Enterprising Europeans'.
A group of students from our school, thanks to the openness and competence of the Bank employee, learned how to manage their money in an effective and rational way. The representative of the Bank kindly showed everyone around the institution, so the students learned about the principles of its functioning, too.
How to start your own business?
Establishing your own business is usually a very important step in a person's professional career. This involves a lot of expenses and risk as we are not sure whether the company will be profitable. In spite of this, more and more people decide on it, first and foremost because they want to be independent and want to be their own boss. How to do it? To find out about this, we organized a meeting with an employee of the District Labor Office in Łęczna in our school in the framework of the Erasmus + project ‘Young Enterprising Europeans’. Students learned what steps to take to start their own business, what to keep in mind when we have our own company, and what the procedures for closing or suspending it are. The representative of the District Labor Office in Łęczna also shared with the pupils the knowledge about the financial support the unemployed who intend to start a business can count on, what the funds from the labor funds for starting a business are and what their mode of granting is. The teenagers also learned what a 'barometer of occupations' in the region is, that is the forecast of employee demand in 2017.
While the assumption of self-employment may seem to be the lower secondary school students a further, however important prospects, the knowledge of the market situation in the region and the country may be crucial when choosing the direction of education in upper secondary school.
The final result of the workshop was creating an information folder on the establishment of our own business by students of Gimnazjum No. 1, which we will be presented here in the near future.

AIESEC in Gimnazjum nr 1 in Łęczna
From 8th to 12th May, 2017 we hosted a student from the international student organization AIESEC. Our students had an extraordinary opportunity to participate in language workshops conducted by Hiromitsu Higashi, a nineteen-year-old international student from Japan who studies at the University of Toronto, Canada. During the meetings with students, Hiro talked about the history and culture of Japan and Canada. The narratives were accompanied by multimedia presentations, from which our students could learn where the above mentioned states lie, what their history and customs are and how the everyday life of their inhabitants looks. Our teenagers were eager to take part in the talks, many of them asked questions. It should also be added that all communication was conducted in English. The workshops were aimed at learning and improving English, increasing motivation to learn foreign languages, creating intercultural dialogue, but above all to overcome the language barrier, necessary skills needed during short-term exchanges of groups of students within the Erasmus + project ‘Young Enterprising Europeans.
Special thanks go to the parents of Karolina Krzewska, one of our student, who gladly hosted Hiromitsu at their home, showing their extraordinary care and hospitality.
